When you look around at other Dads, what do you see? Do you see Dads who are concerned with keeping fit and healthy, building strong bodies, building resilient boys and generating wealth and success?

Or do you see Man-Children who work all week just to goof off at the weekend, their free time centralised around a TV Sports/Netflix subscription? Any hobbies they might have are past times that offer little or no real benefit.

Masculinity becomes a dirty word as the Dad-Bod and Xbox take over. Mediocrity is seen as a cure, not a disease.

Is there a treatment to this Man-Childishness and mediocrity? I believe so – let me tell you why…

Essays on Embracing Masculinity is a Best Of Mike Cernovich’s Danger and Play

Mike Cernovich is a blogger, podcaster and author of Gorilla Mindset – one of the biggest selling self-published titles of 2015.

His blog ‘Danger and Play’ has hundreds of posts on a range of subjects which have been distilled down into this ebook.

Categories covered by the book include:

  • Business and Career Success
  • Motivation and Inspiration
  • Friends and Family
  • Health and Fitness
  • Mindset

Blog posts and podcast transcripts have been edited into short essays which address all of the above subjects and much more.

This collection does truly represent the best of Danger and Play including a transcript of a podcast on ‘Audacity’ and an excellent interview with martial arts expert and businessman Nick Gabriel called ‘Zen and the Martial Art of Living’. Other highlights are essays titled ‘Going from Fit to Big’ and ‘A Tale of Two Men’.

Much of this content is still available on the blog or as a download from Soundcloud.com or Itunes as podcasts.

So why spend money when you can currently access the information free of charge?

One of the advantages of owning the book is convenience. After reading through the whole book, it’s easy to go back and read an essay or two when you have a free moment. Many of the essays take just a few minutes to read – perfect if you’re waiting for a train or on your lunch break.

Plus, this information is freely available for now. Who’s to say that it will be available next week or next month or even next year?? Owning it will ensure you always have access, no matter where you are.

Essays on Embracing Masculinity Has Differences to Cernovich’s Other Published Books

You are likely familiar with Gorilla Mindset (read the review here) and the Juicing books by the same author however this is no rehashed content. Danger and Play is written in an edgier, punchy style while Gorilla Mindset is clearly aimed at a more mainstream audience.

When you buy Essays on Embracing Masculinity, you’ll find there is very little, if any duplication with Cernovich’s previous works.

There is plenty in the book that applies to Dads. One essay I keep going back to is that on developing an abundance mentality. The key mantra in this essay is:

I am enough, I have enough.

I find myself using this regularly when I’m struggling to balance family life, work and other commitments. Feeling abundant instead of limited and restricted has an incredibly positive effect on your outlook on life.

There is also a free PDF available when you buy through Amazon which allows you to take notes and use this as a study book.

Closing Thoughts

I started TDD because there is very little out there for Dads like me:

  • Dads who want more from life than a 9 to 5 and a movie streaming subscription.
  • Dads who want to experience more, live more and share those experiences with our kids.
  • Dads who view challenge and adversity as opportunities to build resilience and character.

Essays on Embracing Masculinity captures much of this in a handy reference guide that you can take anywhere on your digital device. It will open your mind to new ways of thinking and is a fitting accompaniment for Dads who want more.
